Anthony M. Moccia is a Member in the firm’s Litigation Division. Mr. Moccia also serves as Member in Charge of the firm’s Boston office.
Mr. Moccia has extensive trial experience in major commercial and civil litigation in state and federal courts. He represents a broad range of clients in real estate, product liability, construction, insurance, employment and complex personal injury litigation. Mr. Moccia's practice includes representation of several national shopping mall developers, for whom he has successfully litigated disputes involving virtually every aspect of the commercial landlord-tenant relationship, including class actions arising from common area charges, rent issues, tax abatements, use clauses, bankruptcy petitions, abandonments, options, and indemnification disputes. He has almost twenty years' experience providing business advice and litigation services to commercial landlords.
He is also active in the defense of product liability claims, and is Regional Counsel for Viacom, Inc., f/k/a Westinghouse Electric Corporation. In this capacity, Mr. Moccia is trial counsel in hundreds of asbestos actions filed throughout New England and New York.
Mr. Moccia's practice also includes a long history of counsel and litigation service to the construction industry, including successful trials of contractual disputes involving delay damages, extra work, retainage, and statutory liens.
Mr. Moccia also provides advice and litigation representation to a range of commercial property owners and security firms concerning the defense of premises liability and negligent security claims. He has successfully tried numerous cases in this area in courts throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Mr. Moccia has lectured and written on liquor liability issues under Massachusetts law, and is the author of "The Law of Liquor Liability in Massachusetts," which was published in Dram Shop Litigation by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education. He is also an author of Federal Civil Litigation in the First Circuit, also published by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education.
