Dennis R. McEwen is a Member of the firm practicing in the Litigation Division.  Mr. McEwen is a member of the firm’s Board of Directors.

Mr. McEwen’s practice is focused on mass tort and product liability litigation.  He is responsible for cases in state and federal courts throughout the country.  Since 1993 he has attained substantial experience in the management of mass tort litigation.  Mr. McEwen has served as local, regional and national counsel for an international power generation and electrical equipment company and currently is engaged in the national coordination of mass tort claims for that company’s successor.  He also has served as regional and specialty area counsel for the top two domestic automakers in similar litigation.  His responsibilities in those roles include the administration of the firm’s web-based case management center, Litigation Management Online^SM (“LMO^SM”), formulation and implementation of national strategy; the selection and development of witnesses and consultants; and the selection, retention and management of local and regional counsel.  Mr. McEwen also has defended an international chemical manufacturer against chemical exposure claims filed in several states.  He also has experience in copyright, trademark and general commercial litigation.

Mr. McEwen is the Chair of the Lex Mundi Toxic Tort and Products Liability Practice Group.  He is a member of DRI and the Allegheny County Bar Association.  He is a former Barrister in the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Inn of Court.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. McEwen served for two years as a law clerk for United States District Court Judge Glenn E. Mencer, Western District of Pennsylvania.

Mr. McEwen is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania.  He holds an AV^® rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
