Gary S. Lewis is a Member in the firm's Real Estate and Land Use Department.  Mr. Lewis’ practice is concentrated in the area of real estate.  He represents clients in all manners of real estate transactions including acquisitions, sales, leasings and financings.  Sample representations include:

• Represented purchaser of psychiatric hospital from major Philadelphia hospital.  Handled all real estate components of acquisition of hospital campus.
• Represent Philadelphia based university on ongoing basis in range of real estate matters including building acquisitions and leasing.  Devised strategy which divested a fraternity’s interest in real estate on “rule against perpetuities” argument.
• Represented the equity interests in the largest pre-packaged bankruptcy ever filed in Eastern Pennsylvania in a series of 38 separate bankruptcies involving 23 properties, over 2,000 limited partners, 2,500 residential tenants and over a quarter billion dollars in defaulted obligations.  Handled all real estate and financing components of the transaction.
• Represent national financial services company headquartered in Philadelphia in connection with the leasing of its offices nationwide.
• Represented shopping center owners in connection with numerous financings.
• Represent owners of large tracts of undeveloped land in Chester County, PA in connection with sale and development of property.
• Represent Philadelphia area real estate developers in connection with sales, acquisitions and financings of office buildings.
• Represented company in connection with its nationwide consignment sales of United States postage.  Advised on UCC Article 9 compliance issues.

Mr. Lewis serves as corporate counsel to The Chemical Heritage Foundation, a nonprofit corporation.

Mr. Lewis holds an AV^®rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
