Stephen M. Foxman is a Member in the firm's Business Division. He also serves as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Mr. Foxman’s practice focuses in corporate, real estate, employment, and securities law. His practice also encompasses workouts, franchise law, healthcare, and computer and intellectual property law. He has been involved, both for borrowers and lenders, in the reorganization and restructuring of, in excess of $1 billion in debt. He has represented many executive officers of public and private companies in negotiating employment and severance agreements, and he has frequently represented entrepreneurs, investors, and executives in private venture capital and leveraged buy-out transactions.
Mr. Foxman authored the chapter entitled, “Corporate Security and Privacy Duties, Policies and Forms,” which appears in the book, Data Security and Privacy Law – Combating Cyberthreats, published by West Group. Mr. Foxman also is a frequent speaker on e-commerce topics for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.
He is a member of the Philadelphia, District of Columbia and American Bar Associations. Currently, Mr. Foxman serves as Chairman of the Philadelphia Bar Association Business Law Section. He organized and was Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Cyberspace and Electronic Commerce Law Committee in 1999 and 2000, and was elected to the Philadelphia Bar Association Business Law Section Executive Committee in 2002. Mr. Foxman is Treasurer and a member of the Steering Committee for LawWorks, a pro bono community economic development project of the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Volunteers for the Indigent Program (VIP). Mr. Foxman also served on the Philadelphia Bar Association Real Property Section Executive Committee. He has been a member of the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw) since 1982.
Mr. Foxman is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for corporate law and securities law. He has been recognized by his peers as one of Pennsylvania's Super Lawyers® each year from 2004 to 2008, ranking among the top five percent of attorneys practicing in the state. Mr. Foxman also holds an AV® rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
