Neil G. Epstein is a Member in the firm's Litigation Division. His practice has included environmental, securities, construction, civil RICO, antitrust and general commercial cases.
Mr. Epstein was trial counsel and counsel on appeal in a nationally significant precedent-setting case in which the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit en banc held that the Federal Government was a responsible party for the cleanup of a Superfund site as a result of the Government's activities at the site during World War II. He, with other firm attorneys, successfully represented the 2001 Pennsylvania Legislative Reapportionment Commission before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania with respect to challenges to the 2001 Reapportionment Plan.
Mr. Epstein has been a lecturer in law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he taught appellate advocacy, has served as chairman of a Hearing Committee of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and has taught professional responsibility and other subjects in continuing legal education programs for lawyers. He serves as a mediator for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and has been appointed to serve as a Judge Pro Tem of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.
Mr. Epstein has been recognized by his peers as one of Pennsylvania's Super Lawyers® each year from 2006 to 2008, ranking among the top five percent of attorneys practicing in the state. He also holds an AV® rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
