Richard K. Dandrea is a Member in the Litigation Division and Chair of the firm's Mass Tort Department.  He concentrates his practice in the field of product liability defense, with a particular emphasis upon pharmaceutical claims.  Mr. Dandrea also has extensive experience defending against product liability claims involving exposure to work place chemicals.  He has also represented defendants in product liability cases involving chain saws, ladders, industrial equipment and motorcycle helmets.  Mr. Dandrea has litigated a wide range of commercial matters, and has tried commercial and product liability cases in a number of Pennsylvania Common Pleas Courts and U.S. District Courts and in California's state courts.  He is a member of the Bars of the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the First, Third and Fourth Circuits.

Mr. Dandrea has lectured on civil litigation topics at seminars sponsored by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, Law Seminars, Inc., the Law & Science Institute and the Allegheny County Bar Association.  Mr. Dandrea has served on the Product Liability Committee of the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Dandrea is the author of the chapter on Pennsylvania law in a 50-state treatise on products liability published by West Publishing Company.  He is also one of the authors of a Guide to the Individual Practices and Procedures of the Judges of the Western District of Pennsylvania, a publication of the Federal Court Section of the Allegheny County Bar Association.  He has published articles regarding product liability and toxic tort defense in BNA's Toxics Law Reporter and in several trade journals.

Mr. Dandrea is a member of the executive committee of the firm’s board of directors.  He has served as a member of the board of directors of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Red Cross and as Chairman of the nominating committee for the Red Cross board.
