Joseph J. Connolly is a Member in the firm's Business Division. He focuses his practice on advising both U.S. and foreign corporations on acquisition and divestiture transactions.
He is the principal editor of the Manual on Acquisition Review published by the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association. He has been an adjunct professor of law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School and the Georgetown Law Center, and has taught in numerous professional education programs. Mr. Connolly has served as a member of the Mayor’s Advisory Council on the Arts in Philadelphia.
Mr. Connolly previously served as Assistant Solicitor General of the United States; in this position he argued a number of cases in the United States Supreme Court. During the Watergate affair, Mr. Connolly served as Assistant Special Prosecutor on the Watergate Special Prosecution Force.
Mr. Connolly holds an AV® rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized by his peers as one of Pennsylvania's Super Lawers® each year from 2004 to 2008, ranking among the top five percent of attorneys practicing in the state.
