Walter J. Blenko, Jr. is Of Counsel to the firm. He is a member of the firm's Intellectual Property Department.
Since 1954, Mr. Blenko has practiced in all phases of intellectual property law covering a broad range of technologies. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, numerous federal and state courts, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
In addition to his memberships in the Allegheny County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations and the American Intellectual Property Law Association, Mr. Blenko is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a past president of the Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Association, and a member of the Engineers’ Society of Western Pennsylvania and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He has lectured at Carnegie-Mellon University on intellectual property issues.
Mr. Blenko has been active in alumni affairs at Carnegie-Mellon University for many years, has served two terms as President of the Andrew Carnegie Society, and was a member of the Executive Committee and Executive Board of the Alumni Association. He has received the Alumni Association’s Distinguished Service Award and is a member of the Visiting Committee for the Department of Mechanical Engineering. His civic activities include 12 years as a volunteer fireman and an honorary membership in the Wilkinsburg Emergency Medical Service. He has served as a member of and secretary to the Hampton Township Zoning Hearing Board, and as a member and president of the Hampton Township School Board.
