Phillip J. Binotto is a Member of the firm’s Litigation Division.  Mr. Binotto focuses his practice in the area of  Labor and Employment Law, General Litigation, Complex Construction Contract Litigation, and General Corporate Law.

Mr. Binotto has represented hospitals, contractors, manufacturers, and corporate clients on all aspects of labor and employment law, including managing campaigns in opposition to union representation elections; acting as a member of the bargaining team and/or chief negotiator for clients in collective bargaining negotiations against most major labor unions; representing employers in employee grievance arbitrations; defending employers on unfair labor practice charges; defending employers in age, sex, race and handicap discrimination claims; providing advice and defending wage and hour claims; and providing advice on State and Federal labor statutes.  He routinely has given legal advice and strategy on work stoppages, plant closures strike misconduct; unemployment compensation; hiring replacement workers; union avoidance; lockout issues; employee discipline, and general employment issues.  He is a frequent lecturer on employment issues.

Mr. Binotto has extensive experience in negotiating oil and gas leases in Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia with major drilling companies, especially with regard to the Marcellus Shale strata leases.

Mr. Binotto also has extensive trial experience.  He has represented construction clients in complex State and Federal Court litigation and arbitrations.  He also has successfully tried to a jury verdict complex construction cases.  He routinely handles general corporate litigation matters for clients. 

Mr. Binotto has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for 2007.  Only the top five percent of Pennsylvania lawyers received this distinction.  Mr. Binotto holds an AV^® rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
