Mitchell L. Bach is a Member in the firm’s Litigation Division. He focuses his practice on Complex Commercial Litigation.
Mr. Bach has extensive experience in a wide variety of civil matters including securities fraud, RICO, construction litigation, intellectual property litigation, environmental litigation, banking litigation and major commercial disputes. Mr. Bach is also highly skilled in the use of alternative dispute resolution techniques, having made innovative use of such cost-saving methods throughout his career, long before “ADR” achieved wide scale recognition.
Mr. Bach is a member of the Business Law Section and Litigation Section of the American Bar Association. Currently, he is the Chair of the ABA Business Law Section’s Committee on Business and Corporate Litigation, and immediate past Chair of the Business Courts Subcommittee. Mr. Bach has been elected to the Section Council of the American Bar Association’s Section of Business Law. He is also involved in the ABA Section on Dispute Resolution. Mr. Bach has played a key role in the organization and development of the Commerce Case Management Program of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas in 1999, and is actively involved in the creation of other specialized business courts throughout the United States. He is also active in the Philadelphia Bar Association, and served as Chair of its Business Law Section in 2005.
A frequent lecturer, Mr. Bach recently served as a speaker at the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association conference, in a presentation entitled “An Introduction to Business Courts” in Charlotte, North Carolinaon October 5, 2007. He also served as a lecturer at the ABA’s annual meeting in a session titled “An Introduction to Business Courts and Complex Litigation Courts: What Works Best and Why,” held in San Francisco, Californiaon August 13, 2007. Additionally, Mr. Bach was a speaker and course planner for a presentation entitled "An Introduction to Business Courts” at the ABA’s Section of Business Law Annual Spring Meeting in Washington, DC on March 15, 2007.
Before entering private practice, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Thomas A. Masterson, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Bach has been recognized by his peers as one of Pennsylvania's Super Lawyers® each year from 2004 to 2008, ranking among the top five percent of attorneys practicing in the state. He also holds an AV® rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
